Quorn Foods is proud to announce a new set of ambitious goals, which will drive our journey to becoming a more sustainable business over the next 30 years.
Our purpose is to deliver healthy food for people and the planet, and we do this with nutritious and environmentally conscious meal choices, and by investing in the best science and technology. However, we also know that our business has a much wider impact on the world than just the products we sell. We are setting our path to operating in the most sustainable way possible to demonstrate our ongoing commitment to tackling the climate emergency.
Since 2012, we have reduced our relative carbon emissions by 33%1 and our water usage by 16%2. We are also the first major brand to introduce carbon footprint labelling on pack to support more sustainable choices at point of sale. Now, we are setting ourselves bold new targets which will accelerate our climate action and social impact within the next 10 years. You can read more about our three major targets below.
To become a Net Positive company by 2030: Good food is central to the health of our bodies, the happiness of our communities, and the resilience of the environment we share together. We already produce a unique protein source and range of products which deliver health and environmental benefits, but our main goal is to use business as a force for good by supporting healthy societies and helping to protect and restore the natural landscapes around us. This is what ‘net positive’ means to us – by 2030 we will be putting more into the world than we take out.
To achieve net zero emissions within our own operations by 2030: Making healthy, delicious products shouldn’t cost the earth. We are committed to balancing making great food with reducing our carbon emissions to zero by 2030, so you can enjoy every product knowing that we are taking the steps necessary to respect and protect the Earth’s climate.
To achieve net zero emissions across our whole supply chain by 2040: We are stronger and our impact is greater when we work together - which is why we will support, celebrate and demand climate action from our suppliers and partners across our entire value chain. By collaborating at scale to bring our total carbon footprint to zero by 2040, we’ll act as an example within our sector of a sustainable and thriving food system.
We are involving our whole business and our stakeholders in defining a roadmap to achieve our ambitions.
